The Bluegrass Barbeque is a dream-come-true for the Crutchfields as we keep their wonderful memories alive by using our momma’s recipes and our daddy's love for bluegrass music together to share with our hometown.
The Crutchfields welcome you to the Bluegrass Barbeque!
In a small restaurant known as The Trolley Car Café in Cullman, Alabama, a cab driver for Buchmann Taxi named Doyle Crutchfield met Hazel Starnes, a waitress there at the café. They were soon married and began their journey together. In 1954 Doyle and Hazel moved from Cullman, Alabama to Moody, where they lived until their deaths in 2008 and 2012. They raised 6 children here in Moody, Sue Crutchfield, Terry Crutchfield, Ronnie Crutchfield, Becky Crutchfield Martin, Teresa Crutchfield Nichols, and Kenny Crutchfield. Doyle worked at US Steel as a carpenter and a painter. Hazel worked at home and raised their children, grandchildren and many children in the Moody area. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with friends and family. Hazel and Doyle also enjoyed the sounds of Bluegrass and Gospel music.
